I highly recommend Advice From A Broad Abroad to anyone who travels extensively, and to anyone who has enjoyed Lauretta Reeves’ debut novel, Adopted Paws. Advice From A Broad Abroad is as entertaining, beautifully written and refreshingly honest as Adopted Paws, but the setting is entirely different. While Adopted Paws is a narrative that mainly focusses on the author’s home life with her furry friends, Advice From A Broad Abroad takes the reader all over the world. Most of us will associate business travel with boarding a plane to California or attending a conference in London; Advice From A Broad Abroad features many remote areas of the globe that are worth visiting if you are serious about getting local information firsthand (or simply get bored with beach vacations). Advice From A Broad Abroad is replete with practical advice that only an experienced world traveler can give. It covers just about every topic that will eventually crop up in connection with travel, from passport related issues to safety considerations to job interview discussions about extensive business travel. One of the aspects I most enjoy and admire about Lauretta Reeves’ writing is her willingness to share her personal experience. This is what truly sets this book apart from other travel guides and renders it much more informative – and much more fun! Advice From A Broad Abroad is the perfect read for anyone who travels extensively. It is also ideal for readers who are still debating whether extensive business travel, with its stresses and hazards, is for them. However, I would be surprised if anyone decided to stay home completely after looking at the beautiful photography included in this book.
